When I was work on Falcon King, I often go back to this timeline to make sure I'm following it. During some research to suppliment what I put in this timeline for Falcon King, I realized I made an error. I have highlighted the error and explained the correction in a footnote. This error will be corrected in Age of the Immortals 3: Thera Living Enduringly. Due to the minor change that will be made and the small number of people who will actually read this timeline, I will not fix it in Rise of Thera.
Timeline of Theran Involvement on Earth
3400 B.C.
There were only morphians on Thera at this time. A mission to Earth was established by the reigning Theran Pharaoh, Horus, to found a colony there. They formed two kingdoms, the Red Land and the White Land.
3100 B.C.
The morphian Menes (or Narmer, as he’s also known) was set with the task of uniting the two colony-kingdoms. A united Egypt was born.
2181 to 2055 B.C.
Thera split Egypt in two again. Pharaoh Horus started the ‘human rule’ experiment to see if the Egyptians could rule themselves.
2055 B.C.
The Therans gave the human prince Mentuhotep* orders to unite Egypt again. The ‘human rule’ experiment was put on hold.
1786 to 1567 B.C.
Starting with the 13th dynasty—the thirteenth royal family of Egpyt--Thera restarted the “human rule” experiment.
1650 B.C.
Foreign rulers--the Hyksos, who immigrated to Egypt centuries before-- took control of the colony. Thera intervened and sent some Therans undercover with Kamose of Thebes, Egypt to overthrow the Hyksos.
1650 B.C.
Egypt was under the control of the Hyksos. The Therans, using their superior technology, discovered that a disaster could occur on the island of Calliste, off the coast of Greece. There was a volcano on the island near the town of Akrotiri. A group of morphians traveled to Akrotiri to warn the humans there. Many didn’t have anywhere to go, so the morphians offered them a place in their society. By the time the volcano erupted, the people of Akrotiri were well on their way to the planet of Thera with the morphians. Later, both the island and volcano came to be known as Thera.
1567 to 1085 B.C.
After Kamose successfully overthrew the Hyksos rulers, the morphian Ahmose I ruled upper and lower Egypt.
1376 to 1362 B.C.
Akhenaten was pharaoh of Egypt, ruling alongside his wife, Nefertiti. He had a morphian father and a human mother. He hated his morphian heritage because his dad was always having to leave to visit with Theran representatives, so he banned the worship of the Therans. The morphian Aten was known as the sun in Egyptian mythology. Aten was a favorite of Akhenaten because he would visit him when he was a boy and his father was away, so he made Aten the only god of Egypt in honor of him. Aten was actually a very nice, elderly Theran who sadly died near the end of Amenhotep’s reign. The Therans let Akhenaten’s family continue the rule of Egypt. The dynasty after Akhenaten’s family began with morphian general Rameses I. The twentieth dynasty was morphian as well.
1085 to 664 B.C.
Thera let the humans rule themselves in the twenty-first dynasty, but Egypt became weak.
404 B.C.
Thera took control again in the twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth dynasties, but gave humans power again in the thirtieth dynasty.
Fourth century B.C.
The Persians took control of Egypt from the human rulers.
332 B.C.
When Alexander the Great took over, Thera was losing hope for Egypt. Orders went out to every Theran in Egypt to return to Thera. If they stayed, they would have to hide their true heritage from everyone. Many human Egyptians came to Thera because they were married to morphians who chose to go back to Thera.
31 B.C.
When Cleopatra VII was pharaoh, Thera contacted her when she went to war against Rome. She never told Marc Anthony about the Therans, but fought with determination and vigor for her country and her gods. She lost the war and committed suicide. Thera lost all hope for the planet Earth after that. The Therans on Earth The Therans on Earth lost contact with the planet of Thera after the generations who knew about Thera died.
1910s-1920s A.D.
The Therans saw potential in pre-Soviet Russia long after they abandoned Earth. They sparked the rise of the Soviet Union in a final attempt to regain influence on Earth. The Therans continued to influence Soviet Russia from behind the scenes until its fall in 1991. That was the last straw for the Therans. They believed Earth would never achieve greatness in the universe and abandoned Earth for good.
*in Rise of Thera I say Heracleopolis. This is the city Mentuhotep overthrows, not a person. If you would like to read more about this or the events in the timeline, the website I used is linked below. The section for this error is titled "First Intermediate Period (c. 2181-2055 B.C.)."
